The artist says:
In the series ‘New Places’, which I have been developing since 2020, a landscape representation always serves as the starting point. After this first layer has dried, I paint over the entire picture in a second layer, which also shows either a dissolved landscape, an interior or abstract areas of colour. Shortly afterwards, before it dries, I remove this colour in some places, creating images that show an exciting interplay between figuration and abstraction, concealment and revelation, dissolution and condensation, and between the original state and an overpainting, i.e. an artificial state.
